Rewarding excellence and living generously are two of the cornerstones of Goodness we will celebrate at the 2014 Fall Good Leadership Breakfast Series. That’s why I’m already looking forward to this exciting slate of Good Leadership Breakfast speakers beginning in August:

Tim and Jonathan Schmidt are the Fall kick-off speakers on August 15.  Tim is the first returning speaker to our series, as he is also my co-author on the original What Really Works book.  We wrote the book to encourage the strategy of  Blending the Seven Fs: faith, family, finances, fitness, friends, fun and future. While most fathers and sons drift apart during the college years…Tim and Jonathan committed to climb Mt. Rainier together as the ultimate Seven Fs experience.  Their dramatic story is touching and inspiring.

Calvin Allen is a calm, thoughtful leader with a refreshing approach to building high performing corporate cultures.

Spending time in the presence of Calvin Allen, SVP Strategic Planning& HR at Health Partners, leaves me calm, confident and motivated to ask deeper questions about the cultures that develop down stream of leaders. His perspective is shaped by a robust pedigree from positions at Watson Wyatt Worldwide, Cargill, GE Capital Corporation and Price Waterhouse – and a Masters of Business Administration from Harvard University. Calvin accepted my invitation to be our speaker only after careful thought and conversation about the cornerstones of goodness – and how he sees them shaping an enduring culture of service in corporate healthcare today.

Matt Birk - Good Leadership Breakfast
Matt Birk is a Super Bowl champion who has a new book on leadership.

Matt Birk is a local St. Paul kid who rose to the pinnacle of  professional football.  An NFL Super Bowl champion with the Baltimore Ravens, his journey started at Cretin-Derham Hall high school and Harvard University (yep, two Harvard speakers this season!). Most Minnesota Vikings fans were sorry to see Matt leave, but it was fun to see ‘one of us’ win the big game! Today, is he raising a family and sharing his well-articulated point of view on leadership in the 2014 book: All Pro Wisdom: The Seven Choices that Lead to Greatness with co-author Rich Chapman.  If we’re lucky, he will also share a little bit about his budding career as a super-model!

Cathy ten Broeke - Good Leadership Breakfast
Cathy ten Broeke is one of Minnesota’s finest community leaders.

Our final breakfast features one of  Minnesota’s most courageous and influential community leaders. Cathy ten Broeke is a Bush Fellow whose vision is to end homelessness. That’s big. Today she is Minnesota’s State Director to Prevent and End Homelessness. In Washington, DC she is one of America’s most clear and powerful voices on issues of homelessness.   Her personal story has been shared far and wide after she and her partner, Margaret Miles, were the first same sex couple married after Minnesota adopted a same sex marriage law.

Good leaders make a habit to fill up their networking calendars with developmental experiences that inspire goodness. And they learn from the strong voices of leaders who model a well-blended Seven Fs leadership style.

You can purchase season tickets to the Good Leadership Breakfast in advance here.
