The Momentum Behind the 2027 Minnesota HR THRIVE Awards

Last year, something important happened in Minnesota. The inaugural HR THRIVE Awards created a new stage to celebrate HR leaders whose influence reaches far beyond policies and processes. The response confirmed what I have observed for years: HR leadership is business leadership.

The first year succeeded because the awards recognized a profession that too often works behind the scenes. The event brought the HR leaders that help organizations perform at a higher level by speaking up about culture, accountability, and developing talent into the spotlight.

It’s about time!

When nominations opened, the enthusiastic response from the HR community was clear: It’s about time someone created this award! This year, the recognition will keep growing. The award winners in 2026 highlighted HR leaders who are business leaders and elevated the standards of the profession.

The 2027 HR THRIVE Awards are once again presented by these partners: Good Leadership and Gallagher, with media partner Twin Cities Business. The event will take place on May 5, 2027, at Quincy Hall in Minneapolis. The awards will once again honor leaders in four categories:

I am especially encouraged by our growth into a larger venue with room for 350 attendees. More space means more opportunities to recognize finalists, welcome supporters, and bring together leaders who care about the future of work in Minnesota.

Growth is not the goal. Impact is the goal.

I will enthusiastically announce that the nominations will be open from the stage at the Good Leadership Breakfast this Friday, October 9. The way YOU make an impact is by nominating HR Leaders who are speaking up, thinking ahead, and role modeling healthy accountability. In other words, the leaders who are helping the business and the people thrive together.

Nominate a fantastic HR leader here.
