The Good Leadership Breakfast began with a simple discussion during the Great Recession about the question: Do you still believe goodness pays? Then, over the course of 15 years, it became a dynamic force of good leaders who improve how organizations operate because they know goodness pays. Goodness is about thriving and winning together – and how excellence, generosity, fairness, and positivity improve business results.
Now, it’s time for a new chapter.
The Evolution of a Leadership Movement

Leadership is not static. The challenges organizations face today are different from those of a decade ago. That’s why the Good Leadership team conducted accountability research in 2024: to discover the secrets to building a culture of healthy accountability. The team acted on clients’ worries that accountability is “fuzzy,” at best.
In November 2024, more than 275 senior executives attended a full-day conference to discuss the findings of the Healthy Accountability Research. The simplest truth is that the more employees and executives report accountability as “healthy,” the more effective their organization is at producing positive business results.
So… to usher in a new chapter, we’re changing the mission of the Good Leadership Breakfast:
Inspire, equip, and empower good leaders to improve the effectiveness of their organizations with goodness – starting with Healthy Accountability.
The Breakfast will continue to highlight exceptional leaders who demonstrate healthy accountability in action, providing attendees with concrete takeaways to implement within their own teams. The goal is to equip leaders by sharing the data and new tools to make better decisions, build stronger teams, and create positive momentum in the workplace through healthy accountability.
When you attend in 2025 and beyond, you can expect to meet like-minded HR professionals, business executives, and leadership teams who share a passion for organizational effectiveness. And you will all hear the same refrains:
- You can’t have an effective organization without good leadership
- You can’t have good leadership without goodness
- Healthy Accountability is the “glue” for how goodness pays
The mission remains the same: helping leaders grow and thrive. What will change is the approach, which will ensure that attendees leave each Breakfast with not only inspiration but also the insights and tools needed to make a measurable impact on their organizations.
