Healthy Accountability in Healthcare: Good Leadership Breakfast featuring Dr. John Pryor

Just a few weeks away from launching the Fall 2025 Good Leadership Breakfast Series, and the team couldn’t be more excited about the first speaker: Dr. John Pryor, President and Chairman of Proliance Surgeons. His session on September 12 at the Metropolitan Ballroom in Minneapolis will set the tone for the season. With support of Presenting Sponsor, Old National Bank and Meeting Sponsor, Cadre, the Fall 2025 season is sure to be off to a fast start.

The theme for the fall Good Leadership Breakfast series is the Pathway to Healthy Accountability.

Meet Dr. John Pryor: A Visionary in Physician-Led Leadership

Dr. Pryor is more than an accomplished spine surgeon. He’s also an accomplished leader. What stands out to me about Dr. Pryor is his strategic vision and commitment to Healthy Accountability. In a healthcare world that often feels stuck between bureaucracy and burnout, he exemplifies how leaders can create environments of trust, great work, and effective partnerships; the very essence of accountability that I strive to amplify through Good Leadership. That’s why the team is honored to have Dr. Pryor as a Steering Team member for our newest program: The Physician Leadership Accelerator.

A Conversation for Physicians Serious About Leadership

This session will be especially valuable for executives and managers in healthcare, who have a vested interest in helping physicians grow as enterprise leaders. “There’s little to nothing about medical school that trains us to be leaders,” Dr. Pryor commented. “I’m very comfortable with the messy stuff in my patient care – but dealing with the day to day conflicts that arise in the workplace has been a real challenge for me, and most of the physicians I know.”

Later that day, Dr. Pryor will partner with me to facilitate the first immersion retreat for the Physician Leadership Accelerator program. Three cohort groups of participating physicians will begin their leadership journey, by learning the basics of Personal Leadership, Business Leadership, Clinical Leadership and Organizational Leadership. HealthPartners is joined by Proliance Surgeons, and Virginia Orthopedics as the Founding Partners of the Accelerator program.

Join the Momentum

“I’m excited about the opportunity to meet new people in the Minneapolis and St. Paul community, and share my perspective on the vital role physicians play in an effective healthcare system,” shared Dr. Pryor. “And I’m honored to help build momentum for a leadership program that’s desperately needed.”
