Writing the eBook Preview of Healthy Accountability

After months of research, interviews, and reflection, the writing process is well underway for the new Healthy Accountability book and it’s already reshaping how leaders think about accountability.

In a recent podcast with Kevin Sensenig, the conversation explored why this topic matters now, what surprised Kevin and me in the data, and what readers can expect from the preview eBook launching at the May Good Leadership Breakfast.

A New Definition

Accountability has long been seen as punitive or fear-based. The research showed something different. The vast majority of people want to be accountable – 95%. But only if it’s done in a way that feels healthy and helps them grow.

Here’s the working definition:

Healthy accountability is when people win together in an environment where individuals take personal ownership and embrace the support of the team to deliver quality work on time.

That final piece, “embracing support”, is what turns accountability from a burden into a growth opportunity.

Inside the Preview eBook

Launching May 22, the Healthy Accountability preview eBook tells the story through real voices: CEOs, researchers, and leaders who helped shape the work.
